“Our son, Augustin, 10, was diagnosed hearing impaired rather late, at age 6. This brought about concentration problems and social behaviour difficulties. He has ADHD.
It was not easy for him to fit into a society which does not accept differences easily.
We live in Germany and with regards to schooling, Augustin is very well supported.
We were advised by our entourage to go to Mrs Waddell’s center and the Tomatis therapy.
In July 2023, the whole family participated in the therapy. Augustin was accompanied by his brother who is 12.
12 days for the first course and we then came back in October for the last 6 days. We were slightly skeptical at first as we didn’t know this method but I can now confirm that it was an absolute success!
His audition improved by more than 20 decibels on some sounds! The prosthetist could hardly believe it and had to re-adapt his hearing aid. Now Augustin is no longer hearing impaired, he only has audition fragility. He only uses his hearing aid in class to help with his concentration. He is catching up with what he got behind in over the last few years. Writing is still a bit challenging for him but his teachers are very happy with his daily improvements and we are very proud of him!
